Weather Sensor KWSS16.1 for Switch Heating Control

Reliable measurement of air temperature and precipitation

The KWSS16.1 measures air temperature and precipitation as key parameters for the demand-based control of switch heating systems. The robust weather station was developed for use in railway infrastructure and can be easily integrated into existing PLC and control systems.

  • Air temperature: The temperature is measured using a precise PT100 sensor in 4-wire configuration and transmitted directly to the higher-level system.

  • Precipitation: The heated precipitation sensor detects precipitation events and provides the precipitation status via a potential-free changeover contact.

  • Designed for outdoor use: The radiation shield reduces the influence of direct solar radiation on the temperature measurement. The heated precipitation sensor supports reliable detection even under winter conditions.
